The Saudi Sports Arbitration Center Concludes Its Participation In The Sports Investment Forum (SIF).
The Saudi Sports Arbitration Center concluded its participation in the activities of the Sports Investment Forum (SIF), which was held under the patronage of the Ministries of Sports and Investment, from April 7 to 9, as the legal sponsor of the forum
The center's participation included organizing two discussion sessions and a workshop, during which it reviewed its legal and legislative efforts in enhancing the investment environment in the sports sector.
The first session was titled "Arbitration in Sports Disputes and Sponsorship and Sports Investment Contracts," and featured Dr. Najla Al-Huqail, and Mr. Ahmed Abu Amara, an accredited arbitrator at the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center (SSAC) and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The session was moderated by Mr. Hani Al-Mohammed, a board member of the center.
The session addressed the role of arbitration in settling sports disputes, its impact on the stability of the sector, and reviewed the arbitration mechanisms in sponsorship and sports investment contracts. It also highlighted the legal challenges faced by various parties, focusing on the protection of the rights of clubs, players, and investors, and fostering a fair and sustainable investment environment.
The second session, titled "Arbitration and Investment in the Sports Sector," was represented by Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Bassam, Chairman of the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center. In his presentation, he discussed the center's role in resolving sports disputes, arbitration mechanisms in sports investment contracts, key legal challenges, and the center's contributions through its modern legislation to support a stable and encouraging investment environment.
The center’s participation in the forum concluded with a specialized workshop titled "Arbitration in Sports Investment Disputes," presented by Mr. Hassan bin Ibrahim Al-Saif, an accredited arbitrator at the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center. During the workshop, he addressed the legislative and legal aspects of sports law, the concept of sports disputes, key issues related to investment, and the role of the center in handling these issues according to the highest legal standards.
